James Nail has over 17 years of product development strategy and research experience with Andersen Consulting, AT&T/BellSouth, Dell Computer Corporation, Asbury Automotive and PRIMEDIA. He has experience in product management, brand strategy,
market research, interactive and traditional demand generation, customer
loyalty, and web usability.
In his first role with the Andersen Consulting, he worked in new product strategy with Pillsbury, M&M Mars and Häagen–Dazs to introduce an assortment of successful new products. From 2000-2003, he was a Sr. Manager of Strategic Planning and New Product Development at Dell. James led the strategy to develop a rapid new product development process integrating consumer insights and reducing the time to launch new online products by 60%. The result of his work was presented at a national PDMA conference
in 2003. In addition, his team was twice recognized as an outstanding Americas
team at Dell.
From 2003 to 2008, he worked at Primedia driving online strategy and product development. As the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, his work lead to two of the most successful business launches in company history. In addition, his branding, segmentation and marketing message work for ApartmentGuide, NewHomeGuide and AutoGuide won two sliver AMY awards and a gold SouthStar award. James has also been nominated twice to serve as a national advertising judge for the Echo awards.
For the last two year, James has worked as a strategic resource with GuitarCenter.com, Asbury Automotive, HalfOffDepot.com and Silverpop Email Solutions to develop new segmentation strategies, build branded solutions and define consumer engagement models.
James earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi where he graduating first in his class with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA. James also earned an MBA at Vanderbilt University where he also graduated at the top of his class.
